Hey, its been a while since I have continued my Pive PA tutorials , I broke my shoulder plus have about 100 other things going on in the graphics and film world, but ehre is a tip on how to get the BEST ouf ouf your hardware sequencer. Typically, Workstaton keyboards liekt he Korg Triton Series, Motif and Fantoms will let you communicate with all 12 or 16 channels of program patches via a extrenal midi intrument. in this case I will show you show to ustilize those prgrams using the MPC4000, and in the Next video, how to rock it out with Ableton Live and KILLER automation, however the midi control you get form the Korg series is unreal!!
Comments welcome, and remember, these are for everyone, I am just sharing what is working for me.

Dont think of the MPC as a recording device unless you are talking about
sampling. If you want to pop off to record into the MPC, youll have to put
it in sample mode, and iether sample from a turntable or Line in Source, OR
if you want to sample a sequence fomr the MPC, Record it then resample it.
Its not really a workstation, just mmore of a glorified drum machine =)
hope this helps and welcomes and corrections.
A few Answers. YES, you can load sounds to play out of the MPC via a midi
controller. For instance, say you have just a simple bass sample. You can
load that one sound into the MPC, and it will act as SOMEWHAT of a
instrument that has Keygroups, which means it will play the 1 Bass sample
in as many pitches as you have on your midi controller.
5* Chad!! you are great! xoxo Vivi.
chad has made his mark……from a variety of different tracks, openings,

Ummmm…..mr ona1r do you produce or conduct any sort if music/beats? for
any company?
Thanks! I didnt wanna point that out, but you are right! This thing can
take a beating!
Sure. Just go in and out of the MCP Midi , and make sure you check out your
MicroKorg ref manual to see exactly how many banks are on the Microkorg, in
case you need to jump from bank A to bank B, Then you have to adjust the
settings in the PROGRAM > WINDOW on theMPC to make a BANK CHANGE.
dude, cool tutorial. Thanks for sharing
I have question, can I do the same thing with my mpc 4000 en with my
microkorg I wont the sound of my mocrokorg on my mpc4000 en I won her my
drum loop to make baseline is that possible?
The MPC does NOT record sessions, but rather sequences MIDI data, and
either plays it out though the MPC or any external gear. All your recording
needs to go into a soundcard individually. So if yo have a synth, a drum
machine and the MOC, you can record all 3 sources into your soundcard, then
master and mix your track inside your recording application. I recommend
Ableton . the MPC DOES Record, but its more for sampling, so less than a
minute of recording and really favors a turntable
Sloppy looking studio nice equipment
i hav a question, does the mpc have output sounds to use your keyboard as a
midi controller straight from the mpc, AND still record onto the mpc the
things u play?
Have you ever played with an MPC 4000, the thing is built like a tank, he’s
not harming the MP at all, feels good to bang-out like that!!!
Yes Very Easy, Jsut go in and out , and when you record the bassline, make
your Out 1 to your Midi 1 , and the IN will already be seen. Make sure you
setup the patches correctly or next time you boot up the MPC, it wont
remember the patches, then youll be screwed!
You have total control over both the MPC and the Korg. In fact , you can
really access the FX of the Korg directly from the MPC. Just make sure you
stay in sequencer mode and you will be fine. PM me if you have questions..
