Akai MPC 4000 Blog Category
A somewhat short video giving you the basics on how to utilize the MPC 4000. It is a powerful machine. Sadly, I never saw a video that was concise and focused on what this machine can do for you. So I created a simple drum and bass sequence. The MPC is midi connected to other machines so you can see its sequencing power. THe MPC is triggering sounds in my Roland Sonic cell. I am triggering the MPC with my Boss DR880.
Enjoy….Sequencer Basics for the novice .
Cheers,
Ian
PS The 4000 has many internal connections and you can do the same task in many ways. So this video is not the only way to go about your tasks.
PPS I state in the end that the MC909 is at version 2.09…it is actually more like 2.53 or something like that. I can’t remember I just know I have the latest OS and that the ext/int function is not working.

Here is a video for the person that has never used the Akai Z series. I am starting to get into some of the other uses of my Z4 and the MPC 4000. I have been asked many questions about the Z4 and what can it do when used with an mpc. The Z4 is just a sampler with a nice spec. No sequencer in the Z4 or Z8. It has Midi in A & B and Midi Out A & B so 32 midi channels. It has a nice sound when you record at a 24bit 44.1 , 48khz or higher. It is the same engine in the MPC 4000. It also has an autoload function for fast loading of samples from cds. This video will just show you how similar they are.and how easy it is to get around on the Z4. Thanks for watching. Buy a Z!
Note: 24bit/96khz you have 32note polyphony on the Z series and the MPC.
Correction: obviously the MPC4000 can play SMF ‘s
